Oil Advocates Decry "Short-Sighted" Energy Policy

Law360, New York (June 29, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- An “either-or” energy policy that favors alternative energy over oil and natural gas is “short-sighted” and could harm both consumers and the national economy, a leading oil and gas trade group told Congress on Friday.

As it considers what measures to include in the contentious energy bill now before the House of Representatives, the American Petroleum Institute urged lawmakers to be careful not to limit traditional oil and natural gas supplies, particularly with petrol prices rising as the summer gets underway.
