Microsoft Windows Steps On Network Speed IP: Suit

Law360, New York (November 07, 2011, 1:23 PM ET) -- A software development company on Thursday sued Microsoft Corp., Acer America Corp., Dell Inc. and Hewlett-Packard Co. in California federal court, claiming the technology giants infringed a patent covering technology used to accelerate network speeds.

Proxyconn Inc. lodged four separate patent infringement suits alleging Microsoft Windows, which was preinstalled on computers and servers sold by Dell, HP and Acer, infringed the patent.

Santa Ana, Calif.-based Proxyconn is asking the court to issue a permanent injunction barring the companies from further infringement of the patent-in-suit.
