Supreme Court Won't Tackle EPA Renewable Fuel Rule

Law360, New York (November 7, 2011, 1:46 PM EST) -- The U.S. Supreme Court elected Monday not to hear a suit challenging the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's implementation of renewable fuel standards, setting aside oil industry groups' contention that the agency could not make the rules retroactive.

The National Petrochemical and Refiners Association and the American Petroleum Institute petitioned the court in July to review the D.C. Circuit's decision to uphold EPA regulations implementing the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007.
