Accel Starts $100M Fund For Big Data Breakthroughs

Law360, New York (November 8, 2011, 12:13 PM EST) -- Venture capital standout Accel Partners has launched a $100 million fund to discover and foster pioneering technologies in so-called big data management and related cloud computing software, the firm announced Tuesday.

Accel's Big Data Fund is focused on spotting entrepreneurs leading the next wave of solutions ranging from the capture and storage of massive data sets to software applications and analytics for vast and unwieldy amounts of information, according to the firm's statement.
