MRIGlobal Hit With Trade Secrets Claims Over DOE Lab

Law360, New York (November 8, 2011, 7:33 PM EST) -- MRIGlobal, which runs the U.S. Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory, was hit with a trade secrets lawsuit Tuesday alleging it failed to credit subcontractor DesignSense Inc. for its role in the construction of a groundbreaking new laboratory.

DesignSense and founder David Shelton claim in Colorado federal court that MRI and Alliance for Sustainable Energy LLC used its proprietary construction management system while building the DOE's Research Support Facility in Golden, Colo., but have since failed to acknowledge DesignSense's ownership of the process.
