Networking Co. Extreme Didn't Violate Switch IP, Jury Says

Law360, New York (November 8, 2011, 5:47 PM EST) -- A federal jury in Wisconsin on Friday decided in favor of computer networking company Extreme Networks Inc. in its dispute with telecommunications hardware company Enterasys Networks Inc., finding that Extreme did not infringe a patent covering network switches.

The jury found that 12 products of Santa Clara, Calif.-based Extreme's did not infringe U.S. Patent Number 5,195,181, titled “Message processing system having separate message receiving and transmitting processors with message processing being distributed between the separate processors.”
