Apple Faces ITC Probe Over IPhone, IPad Imports

Law360, New York (November 8, 2011, 5:46 PM EST) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission on Tuesday agreed to open investigations into claims from VIA Technologies Inc. and S3 Graphics Co. Ltd. that Apple Inc. imports iPhones, iPads and other products that infringe their microprocessor and graphics patents.

VIA and S3 each filed a complaint with the ITC on Sept. 22 accusing Cupertino, Calif.-based Apple of violating Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 by bringing products to the U.S. that infringe their patents.
