Samsung Wins Look At IPhone Contracts In Aussie IP Row

Law360, New York (November 9, 2011, 2:47 PM EST) -- An Australian judge on Wednesday ordered Apple Inc. to turn over its iPhone contracts with mobile phone carriers in Australia, granting a request by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. in the companies' global battle over touch screen patents.

Samsung asked for the documents because it claims that Apple's contracts with Vodafone Group PLC, SingTel Optus Ltd. and Telstra Corp. require the carriers to subsidize sales of Apple's iPhone. Australia Federal Court Justice Annabelle Bennett ruled that the contracts are relevant to the case.
