Adams Drops DOL Jobs Corp Contract Suit For Now

Law360, New York (November 10, 2011, 3:36 PM ET) -- Education contractor Adams and Associates Inc. on Wednesday conditionally agreed to dismiss its lawsuit claiming the U.S. Department of Labor wrongly set aside its Jobs Corp center contract for small businesses following the DOL's decision to cancel and re-evaluate the solicitation.

Adams filed the suit in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, arguing that the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 makes it illegal to exempt large businesses from contracts to operate Jobs Corps centers, which train disadvantaged youth for work. The Job Corps program represents 80...
