Aurora Health Settles Security Workers' Meal Break Suit

Law360, New York (November 10, 2011, 6:09 PM EST) -- A Wisconsin federal judge gave final approval Thursday for nonprofit health care provider Aurora Health Care Inc.'s $480,000 settlement in a class action brought by its facilities' security officers who claimed they were required to remain on duty during their unpaid meal periods.

U.S. District Judge J. P. Stadtmueller signed off on the deal, resolving the security officers' claims that Aurora's pay policies violated the Fair Labor Standards Act and Wisconsin state labor laws.
