Gibson Reps PE Firm In $180M Whole Foods Stock Sale

Law360, New York (November 10, 2011, 4:14 PM ET) -- Leonard Green & Partners LP, a Los Angeles-based private equity firm and the biggest stockholder in Whole Foods Market Inc., sold more than 2.6 million shares in the natural foods grocer for $180 million earlier this month, according to a Wednesday regulatory filing.

Three funds associated with the firm sold the shares in separate transactions. The average sale price was just over $68 per share, for a total sale of $179.8 million, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
