Ex-Giants Payroll Manager Cops To $2.2M Fraud

Law360, New York (November 14, 2011, 10:36 PM EST) -- A former payroll manager for the owner of the San Francisco Giants on Monday admitted to charges of embezzling some $2.2 million from the baseball team and its employees through tactics such as creating fake paychecks.

Robin M. O’Connor, who worked for San Francisco Baseball Associates LP, has pled guilty in California federal court to charges of wire fraud stemming from her scheme between June 2010 to June 2011, when she improperly reduced employee tax withholdings and stole from funds meant for employee salaries and expenses,...
