Lawmakers Eye Higher FHA Mortgage Loan Caps

Law360, New York (November 15, 2011, 9:48 PM EST) -- U.S. lawmakers on Monday agreed to include a measure reinstating a recently expired higher loan limit for mortgage loans insured by the Federal Housing Administration in a funding bill, though the legislation still has to pass both houses of Congress.

The recommendation came in a conference report from the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives' appropriations committees on the “minibus” bills that would fund a number of agencies, including the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
