SBA Floats New Size Standards For Real Estate, Education

Law360, New York (November 15, 2011, 3:38 PM EST) -- The U.S. Small Business Administration proposed two rules Tuesday that would redefine what constitutes a small business in the real estate, equipment rental and education services industries, allowing companies with higher annual revenue to compete for small business contracts in most industry subcategories.

The SBA proposed increasing size standards, based on annual revenue, for 21 categories of businesses in the rental and real estate industries, and nine types of education businesses, as part of an ongoing review of size standards that haven't been updated in decades....
