Ga. Court Lets Yamaha Off Hook In Rhino Injury Suit

Law360, New York (November 16, 2011, 5:25 PM EST) -- A Georgia appeals court on Tuesday threw out a $317,000 award to a man injured on a Yamaha Motor Corp. USA Rhino all-terrain vehicle, reversing the only decision favoring a plaintiff in nine Rhino-related cases that have gone to trial.

The appeals court unanimously reversed and remanded the judgment from a lower court, which came down in May 2010.

Hundreds of plaintiffs around the country have filed personal injury suits alleging defects in the Rhino caused the vehicles to flip and injure or kill passengers. A...
