GAO Nixes Protest Over $45M NASA Tech Support Contract

Law360, New York (November 16, 2011, 6:58 PM EST) -- Paragon Tec Inc. has lost a bid protest challenging NASA’s decision to award a $45 million technical support services contract to rival engineering services firm Alphaport Inc., the U.S. Government Accountability Office ruled in a decision posted Wednesday.

The GAO rejected Paragon’s argument that NASA had overestimated Alphaport’s capabilities in its technical evaluations of the proposals by both firms, finding that Paragon had not shown enough evidence that its innovation proposals were more suitable for the contract, and saying the agency’s judgment was reasonable.
