2nd Circ. Asked To Revive Capital One Debt Collection Suit

Law360, New York (November 16, 2011, 9:05 PM EST) -- A Capital One Bank NA credit card holder on Wednesday asked the Second Circuit to reopen a putative class action that claims the bank tricked consumers into calling third-party bill collectors, arguing the alleged deception was a violation of debt collection law.

Capital One in early 2010 sent its credit card customers a letter on company letterhead promising to reduce their interest rates to zero if they would call the bank and work out a plan to repay their outstanding balances.
