Law360, New York (November 18, 2011, 2:42 PM ET) -- DirecTV Inc., Ernst & Young LLP and Time Warner Inc. were among 13 companies hit with patent infringement suits Thursday by a Texas intellectual property licensing company, which claims the companies’ websites violate a widely asserted data organization patent.
The 13 companies named in lawsuits filed by Webvention LLC in Texas federal court have “infringed and continue to infringe the patent-in-suit directly by making, selling, offering for sale and/or using websites … that practice or embody the patented invention,” one of the complaints said.
