Bacardi Downs Liquor Distributor’s Antitrust Suit

Law360, New York (November 18, 2011, 1:39 PM ET) -- A federal judge on Thursday dismissed a Johnson Brothers Liquor Co. suit that accused Bacardi USA Inc. and Brown-Forman Corp. of violating Minnesota law and the Sherman Act by nixing distribution agreements, saying Johnson Brothers hadn't cited an unreasonable restraint on competition.

Alcoholic beverage distributor Johnson Brothers slapped Brown-Forman and Bacardi with a complaint in federal court in Minnesota on April 4, claiming the defendants had violated federal antitrust law and the Minnesota Franchise Act.
