Jury Awards Firefighter $6M In Harrassment Suit

Law360, New York (July 5, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In another blow for the Los Angeles Fire Department, a federal jury has handed a female firefighter $6.2 million as recompense for the harassment and suffering she endured at the hands of her colleagues who allegedly terrorized her for being an African-American lesbian.

On Tuesday, the jury awarded Brenda Lee millions of dollars after listening to a tale of abuse that included a fellow firefighter purportedly mixing urine with her mouthwash.
