Apple, Sony, Others Face ITC Suit Over Display Patents

Law360, New York (November 18, 2011, 7:16 PM ET) -- Graphics Properties Holdings Inc., formerly known as Silicon Graphics Inc., on Thursday accused Apple Inc., Sony Corp. and several other electronics giants of importing smartphones, televisions and tablets that infringe three patents covering display and computing technology.

The New Rochelle, N.Y.-based company asked the U.S. International Trade Commission to investigate whether products made by Apple, Sony, Research In Motion Ltd., HTC Corp., LG Electronics Inc., Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. and Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications AB ran afoul of patents stemming from Silicon Graphics' inventions.
