Morrison Cohen Aids Westport's Cooper Square Hotel Sale

Law360, New York (November 18, 2011, 6:30 PM EST) -- Westport Capital Partners LLC has sold the Cooper Square Hotel to Hungarian-born hotel mogul Andre Balazs, ending two months of speculation about the future of the glass-covered, 25-story New York property, the real estate investment firm announced Friday.

Westport acquired the 145-room hotel, which opened in 2008 after considerable delays, late last year in a refinancing deal widely reported to be worth $70 million. Terms of Friday's sale were not immediately disclosed.
