7th Circ. Affirms Lovenox Kickback Case Conviction

Law360, New York (November 21, 2011, 5:48 PM ET) -- The Seventh Circuit on Monday refused to reverse the conviction of a former hospital pharmacy director who allegedly took kickbacks in exchange for not switching the hospital over from the blood thinner Lovenox to a competing drug.

A three-judge appeals court panel rejected Benjamin Muoghalu's challenge to his convictions — on counts including conspiracy to receive kickbacks and receiving kickbacks — as well as his 22-month sentence, in an 11-page ruling.
