Law360, Chicago (November 22, 2011, 7:58 PM ET) -- West American Insurance Co. ditched some claims Monday in Allstate Insurance Co.'s suit in Colorado seeking contribution for a $7.4 million settlement Allstate struck in underlying construction defect litigation.

U.S. District Judge R. Brooke Jackson partly granted West American's motion for summary judgment, siding with it on equitable indemnity and certain other claims, but rejecting its argument that a so-called real estate property managed endorsement in its policy, which barred coverage for damage to property managed by the insured, excludes coverage for the settlement over construction...
