Markey Rips Amazon's Response To Kindle Privacy Inquiry

Law360, New York (November 29, 2011, 5:54 PM EST) -- Rep. Edward Markey, D-Mass., said Tuesday that Amazon.com Inc. had responded inadequately to his queries about the online retailer's plans for using a "massive" amount of customer information collected through the Kindle Fire tablet's Internet browser.

Markey sent a letter to Amazon Chief Financial Officer Jeff Bezos in October, demanding details on the type of information the company would collect about Kindle Fire users through the tablet's Silk Internet browser and how the company intended to use that data.
