Troutman Reps Cousins In $135M Atlanta Tower Purchase

Law360, New York (November 29, 2011, 8:22 PM EST) -- Cousins Properties Inc. has paid $135 million in cash for a 774,000-square-foot office tower in Atlanta previously owned by a real estate investment trust, the developer said Monday.

The building, called Promenade II, had been part of the U.S. holdings of Australia's Charter Hall Office REIT, but was slated to be acquired by Beacon Capital Partners LLC as part of an August agreement to purchase all of Charter Hall's U.S. assets for $1.71 billion, according to statements by Charter Hall. Cousins negotiated the terms of the purchase with Beacon Capital about the same...
