Walgreen, Kroger Join Fray Over Wyeth’s Effexor Tactics

Law360, New York (December 01, 2011, 3:29 PM ET) -- Drugstore giants Walgreen Co. and The Kroger Co. on Wednesday became the latest to accuse Pfizer Inc. unit Wyeth LLC of using sham patent litigation and other anti-competitive tactics to block generic competition with its antidepressant Effexor XR.

Walgreen and Kroger, joined by fellow retail pharmacies Safeway Inc., Supervalu Inc., Heb Grocery Co. LP as well as drug distributor American Sales Co.
