US Rep. Rahall Floats New Buy American Bill

Law360, New York (December 2, 2011, 8:11 PM EST) -- Rep. Nick Rahall, D-W.Va., the top Democrat on the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, proposed a bill Thursday that aims to boost the amount of U.S.-made components in public infrastructure projects.

The Invest in American Jobs Act of 2011, or H.R. 3533, would ensure that the steel, iron and other manufactured goods used to make bridges, railroads and other federally funded projects are made in the U.S., with some exceptions.
