Genzyme Sues TKT Over Biotech Patent In Israeli Court

Law360, New York (January 25, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- Barely a year and a half after Genzyme Corp. and Transkaryotic Therapies Inc. settled their patent disputes with a vow to spend less time in court, the two biotech companies are facing off again before an Israeli judge.

On Tuesday, Genzyme Corp. confirmed it had filed a lawsuit in the District Court of Tel Aviv alleging that Transkaryotic Therapies Inc. has infringed an Israeli patent covering cell culture processes involved in the manufacture of glucocerebrosidase.
