Filipino Developer Makes Early Bid For Airport Land

Law360, New York (December 5, 2011, 9:23 PM EST) -- SM Prime Holdings Inc., a major mall owner and developer in the Philippines, has interest in buying land currently occupied by an airport that politicians are vying to get relocated, it said Monday.

The company confirmed a report in the local media that it was looking to purchase the land occupied by the Mactan Cebu International Airport Authority if the airport moves, according to a statement filed with the Philippine Stock Exchange. The space consists of about 741 acres, according to the statement.
