SEC Probes Miami, County Over Marlins' Stadium Deal

Law360, New York (December 5, 2011, 4:22 PM EST) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Thursday began investigating public financing the city of Miami and Miami-Dade County are providing for the Miami Marlins' new stadium, which is being partially funded by nearly $500 million in stadium and parking bonds.

The city and county have until Jan. 6 to produce certain documents in accordance with subpoenas the agency issued, including communications with Major League Baseball and team officials.
