Rajaratnam Begins 11-Year Term At Mass. Prison

Law360, New York (December 5, 2011, 4:31 PM EST) -- Galleon Group LLC founder Raj Rajaratnam has begun serving his 11-year insider trading sentence at a federal prison in Ayer, Mass., a Federal Bureau of Prisons spokesman confirmed Monday.

Rajaratnam, 54, checked into Federal Medical Center Devens at around noon Monday, BOP spokesman Edmond Ross said.

“There was nothing unusual about it,” Ross said. “Very routine. We incarcerate several hundred thousand inmates — he's just one of many.”
