DOJ Confirms Antitrust Probe Of E-Book Industry

Law360, New York (December 7, 2011, 2:59 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Justice is investigating possible anti-competitive practices in the e-book industry, the acting head of the department's Antitrust Division told members of Congress on Wednesday.

The DOJ's Sharis Pozen and Federal Trade Commission Chairman Jon Leibowitz testified before the U.S. House of Representatives Judiciary Committee's subcommittee on intellectual property, competition and the Internet at a hearing focused on oversight of the federal antitrust enforcement agencies.
