Law360, New York (December 06, 2011, 2:07 PM ET) -- Alpha Natural Resources on Tuesday agreed to pay $209 million to absolve Massey Energy Co. of criminal liability for a blast that killed 29 miners, the same day mining officials accused Massey of flouting safety standards and hiding hazards in the mine.
