Law360, Los Angeles (December 06, 2011, 4:59 PM ET) -- A California federal jury on Tuesday found that Pom Wonderful LLC hadn't proven advertising and labels on Ocean Spray Cranberries Inc.'s pomegranate-cranberry juice drink duped consumers into purchasing a beverage that contained a only a trace amount of pomegranate juice.
The Los Angeles jury deliberated for less than two hours before delivering its verdict. Pom claimed during the two-week trial that Ocean Spray's drink, which was considerably cheaper and contained only 2 percent pomegranate juice, poached would-be consumers.
