Cablevision Sues Verizon Over Internet Speed Ad Claims

Law360, New York (December 06, 2011, 10:30 PM ET) -- Cablevision Systems Corp. sued Verizon Communications Inc. in New York federal court on Tuesday over a Verizon advertising campaign that Cablevision says makes intentionally false and misleading claims about the speed of its Internet service.

The Verizon ads were based on a study by the Federal Communications Commission released in August, which found the speed of Cablevision service during peak hours of Internet usage in March was, on average, around half of the speed advertised.
