Calif. Appeals Court Reverses Denial Of Water-Use Pact

Law360, New York (December 07, 2011, 7:22 PM ET) -- A California state appeals court on Wednesday overturned a lower court’s ruling nullifying a landmark 2003 water-use agreement to reduce the state's dependence on the Colorado River.

In a 166-page opinion, a three-judge panel rejected Sacramento County Superior Court Judge Roland Candee's January 2010 ruling that one of the contracts under the 2003 Quantification Settlement Agreemen violated the state’s constitution.
