Law360, Los Angeles (December 07, 2011, 6:50 PM ET) -- Sprint Nextel Corp., AT&T Inc. and Verizon Communications Inc. were accused Wednesday in Pennsylvania of infringing a patent related to the use of prepaid calling cards.
The suit, filed by inventor John R. Gammino, argues that the patent-in-suit is infringed when customers place phone calls using prepaid calling cards. The invention at issue provides telecommunications companies with a tool to selectively block and transmit international calls, the suit says.
