State Farm Seeks To Invalidate Licensing Cos. Patents

Law360, New York (July 11, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. is striking back against two Arizona licensing companies that demanded royalty payments for business method patents covering the automated sale and marketing of financial products.

State Farm filed a lawsuit Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona against LPL Licensing LLC and Phoenix Licensing LLC seeking declaratory judgment of noninfringement and invalidity concerning three patents.
