Pfizer Settles Menopause Drug Suit After $73M Verdict

Law360, New York (December 9, 2011, 2:46 PM EST) -- Pfizer Inc. has settled its dispute with three women who won a $72.6 million jury verdict against the drug giant after claiming menopause drugs made by Pfizer unit Wyeth Inc. gave them breast cancer, the plaintiffs' lawyer confirmed Friday.

The drug maker and the women told the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas on Friday morning that they had reached the settlement, the terms of which are confidential, said Matt Leckman of Pogust Braslow & Millrood LLC.
