Game Over For Sony PlayStation Update Action

Law360, New York (December 8, 2011, 7:51 PM EST) -- A California federal judge on Thursday nixed a putative class action accusing Sony Computer Entertainment America LLC of reneging on its promise to let users run Linux and other operating systems on their PlayStation 3s.

U.S. District Judge Richard Seeborg granted Sony's motion to dismiss the plaintiffs' first amended complaint with prejudice, ruling that they had failed to prove that Sony's alleged conduct left it liable to consumers.
