Ex-Air Force Sgt. Gets 40 Months For Afghanistan Bribes

Law360, New York (December 9, 2011, 1:54 PM EST) -- A one-time military contracting officer was sentenced in Illinois federal court on Wednesday to 40 months in prison for taking bribes in exchange for awarding U.S. Department of Defense contracts during his deployment at Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan.

Former U.S. Air Force Master Sergeant Patrick W. Boyd, who pled guilty in 2008 to three counts of conspiracy to commit bribery and three counts of bribery, is the latest defendant to be sentenced in the wide-ranging bribery investigation, which has snared several other former military officers....
