Law360, New York (December 09, 2011, 3:56 PM ET) -- A federal panel on Friday consolidated in New York federal court five putative class actions accusing Apple Inc., Barnes & Noble Inc. and a group of major publishers of conspiring to fix e-book prices.
The Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation placed U.S. District Judge Denise L. Cote in charge of the the antitrust suits after concluding the plaintiffs had all made similar claims and that New York was a more appropriate venue than California federal court, which some of the plaintiffs had backed.
