PE Firm Warburg Pincus Puts $355M In Clean Energy Tech

Law360, New York (December 09, 2011, 5:12 PM ET) -- Warburg Pincus LLC is putting $355 million toward a venture capital vehicle that will focus on renewable energy technology, the New York-based private equity firm announced Friday.

First Green Partners LLC will invest in early-stage technology to convert biomass and carbon dioxide to fuels and chemicals, and applications of clean technology in the oil-and-gas industry, the statement said. First Green will make initial investments of $500,000 to $10 million and up to $100 million in a single business throughout its growth.
