Supreme Court Will Decide Texas Redistricting Dispute

Law360, New York (December 9, 2011, 11:08 PM EST) -- The U.S. Supreme Court on Friday agreed to wade into a debate over the Texas legislature's new congressional and state legislature district maps, which have been accused of diluting minorities' voting strength in violation of the Voting Rights Act.

The high court granted Texas' request to stay the implementation of new redistricting maps drawn up by a three-judge panel in the Western District of Texas.
