Telecom Markets Vary Too Widely, EU Says

Law360, New York (July 12, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- European national telecommunications regulators need to harmonize their rules and cooperate with the European Union, the European Commission said in a report unveiled on Thursday.

The report showed that while national telecom regulators have succeeded in presenting more coherent market analyses and increasing transparency, their remedies for and penalties against anti-competitive behavior still vary widely.
