Connector Co. Says Imports Don't Infringe Rival's Patent

Law360, New York (December 13, 2011, 4:26 PM EST) -- Electronics connector maker Corning Gilbert Inc. on Monday said in a U.S. Court of International Trade lawsuit that regulators wrongly excluded over 20 million cable connectors from import under the false belief that the merchandise infringed a competitor’s patent.

Corning Gilbert accused U.S. Customs and Border Protection of being erroneously swayed by rival connector company John Mezzalingua Associates Inc., doing business as PPC, to prevent Corning Gilbert from importing several types of coaxial cable connectors that should not have been covered by a previous exclusion order....
