Law360, New York (December 14, 2011, 3:11 PM ET) -- The Coca-Cola Co. announced on Wednesday it is expanding its reach in the Middle East by acquiring a stake in Saudi Arabia-based beverage maker Aujan Industries for $980 million.
Coca-Cola will acquire 50 percent of the Aujan entity that holds the rights to Aujan-owned brands, and 49 percent of Aujan’s bottling and distribution company in the deal. The licensed brand Vimto will remain with the Aujan-managed bottling and distribution company.
The agreement excludes Aujan’s Iranian manufacturing and distribution business. Closing of the transaction is subject to...
