Law360, New York (December 14, 2011, 3:47 PM ET) -- A federal judge on Wednesday turned over to a Utah jury a high-stakes antitrust tangle in which Novell Inc. accuses Microsoft Corp. of rigging its operating system to exclude Novell's software applications and drive the company out of the market.
Following an eight-week trial, the jury will determine whether Microsoft engaged in various schemes to restrict the compatibility between its Windows 95 operating system and Novell's WordPerfect and Quattro Pro and prevent the smaller software maker from getting a foothold in the industry.
