CVC, Johor Bid $1.5B For Malaysian KFC Unit

Law360, New York (December 15, 2011, 5:11 PM ET) -- CVC Capital Partners Ltd. and Malaysia's investment arm for the state of Johor has offered over 5 billion ringgits ($1.5 billion) to acquire KFC Holdings (Malaysia) Bhd as well as its parent QSR Brands Bhd, the fast food operators said Wednesday.

CVC and Johor Corp. made the bid for over 900 fast food restaurants in Southeast Asia through a joint venture called Massive Equity Sdn Bhd, 51 percent of which is owned by Johor, according to statements by KFC and QSR on the Malaysian stock exchange....
